Now WordPress is making it hugely difficult for me to interact with any of you with comments or simple likes. ![]() ![]() At first I thought it was going to be a paranormal novel where the major action plot is very much about “saving the world”. I didn’t feel like the story dragged at all, if anything some extra details would have been nice. The novel kept moving at a good speed, there were enough character sub-plots to satisfy and I liked the romance which grew (although it was predictable). I do have to note though, that the main reason why I enjoyed this novel was because of the concept: Janie witnesses other people’s dreams. I generally don’t enjoy YA novels as much because they can feel shallow and follow the “high school” formula but this novel was different. She is a participant ReviewĪfter recently reading Dracula, I really enjoyed what this novel provided me. For the first time, Janie is more than a witness to someone else’s twisted psyche. Then she falls into a gruesome nightmare, one that chills her to the bone. So Janie lives on the fringe, cursed with an ability she doesn’t want and can’t control. She can’t tell anybody about what she does they’d never believe her, or worse, they’d think she’s a freak. Janie’s seen enough fantasy booty to last her a lifetime. Especially the falling dreams, the naked-but-nobody-notices dreams, and the sex-crazed dreams. ![]() ![]() Wake by Lisa McMann genre: paranormal, YAĪre you fascinated by dreams? Perfect proof of this statement lies in the fact that The Call of the Wild (1903) shows the Darwinian theories of the "survival of the fittest," as a dog is taken from its civilized Southland and is placed in the primitive North, where it must learn to cope with all sorts of primitive conditions if it is to survive. ![]() Instead, he fluctuated from one critical view to another as the moment seemed to warrant it.
